How to Smooth Out Wrinkles with Dermal Fillers in Culver City

Thanks to some pretty amazing dermatologic advancements, there are now so many ways to make your skin to look younger. Dermal fillers are just one of these advancements. Made from natural or synthetic materials, dermal fillers are injected under your skin to plump your pout, smooth lines, wrinkles and even replace lost volume in your cheeks.

Fillers, Botox and Dysport

Fillers range from temporary to semi-permanent to permanent, with results lasting anywhere from six months to up to five years. In addition to dermal fillers, wrinkle relaxers like Dysport and Botox are also effective in turning back the hands of time.

While Botox and Dysport are injected the same way as dermal fillers are, they are not the same thing. Dermal fillers plump and fill whereas Dysport temporarily paralyzes muscle movement to create a wrinkle-free appearance.

Below, we’ve rounded up some of the most popular cosmetic treatments currently available along with their recommended uses.

Non Surgical Dermal Fillers Los Angeles

Juvederm
Juvederm is a hyaluronic-based filler designed to add plumpness to the facial tissue. It’s also used to fill in nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Juvederm Voluma is one of the best cheek fillers to lift face in Los Angeles. Results typically last up to one year. Juvederm is temporary, so if you’re not happy with the result, it can be dissolved and reinjected. To maximize your results, it’s a good idea to schedule regular maintenance injections. In doing so, you also extend the longevity of previous injections.

Restylane
Similar to Juvederm, Restylane is also made of hyaluronic acid. Results typically last between six and 12 months. Though there is not a drastic difference between the two products, Juvederm does contain slightly higher concentrations of hyaluronic acid. Restylane Silk can be used to fill in the hollows under your eyes and eliminate dark circles. When paired with Juvederm Voluma for a cheek lift, the results are phenomenal.

Belotero
Like Juvederm and Restylane, Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler. Belotero is used more for surface wrinkles and superficial lines whereas Juvederm and Restylane are usually injected deeper into the dermis. Belotero is formulated for shallow injections, so it reduces the possibility of patients developing the Tyndall effect. The Tyndall effect is a bluish hue of the skin when dermal fillers are injected too close to the top layer.

Wrinkle Relaxers In Los Angeles

Both Dysport and Botox are nonsurgical wrinkle treatments with little to no downtime. Both products work extremely well to counteract the natural aging process and smooth out dynamic lines of the forehead and around the eyes. Dynamic lines are the lines that happen with repetitive movements.

Dysport
Dysport reduces the appearance of the lines in between your eyebrows, the glabella region. These lines can extend vertically toward the forehead. They are particularly pronounced when someone is frowning. Dysport is also recommended for people with moderate to severe glabellar lines that don’t respond to Botox injections.

Botox
Botox is highly effective in treating crow’s feet, glabellar lines and forehead wrinkles. Botox injections are performed the same way Dysport injections are performed. There is little to no downtime with either product.

Both Botox and Dysport for wrinkles can be as combination treatments with dermal fillers. Both products can be injected into the forehead and into the crow’s feet to smooth out dynamic lines.

When combined with fillers, a Los Angeles Botox face lift delivers optimal results.

Here’s how it works:
Small amounts of Botox are injected into the skin to minimize pore size, which in turn, causes the skin of the treated areas to tighten. The lifting effect lasts up to four months with no downtime. In addition, intradermal injections of Botox along the jawline slightly blocks the movement of the platysma muscle. This gives your jawline a more chiseled appearance.

You can’t stop the aging process, but you can sure give it a run for its money. At Westside Face, our expert injectors focus on natural results, not overfilled, frozen faces. If you’re considering dermal fillers or would like to know more about Botox or Dysport, contact us today.

COMPARING DERMAL FILLERS: JUVEDERM VS RESTYLANE

All dermal fillers are FDA-approved gel-like substances, and the two most commonly used are made from hyaluronic acid: Juvederm and Restylane.

Juvederm has a different formula depending on which side of the face it’s being injected into. Depending on if you are plumping up your cheeks, and they reach deeper than other kinds of Juvederm injections. Juvederm XC is used for plumping up and reshaping cheeks. Juvederm Vollure XC and Juvederm XC are used for marionette lines, smile lines, and other moderate-to-deep wrinkles. Juvederm Volbella XC and Juvederm Ultra XC are created for much more delicate procedures. Lip injects, as well as any other injections around the mouth, designed for even finer applications like injections in the lips and right around the mouth.

DYSPORT VS BOTOX

You’ve likely tried a vast variety of serums and moisturizers before seeking out wrinkle relaxers to remove your fine lines. With all the trial and error, you want to be sure you are choosing the right procedure for your issues this time around.

Dysport and Botox are very similar injections, and they come with a similar set of ingredients and side effects. These two materials may not be right for you if you’ve had cases of botulism in the past, or if you are allergic to dairy. Like all injectable fillers, neither lasts forever, but Botox lasts for a couple of months longer than Dysport. Your surgeon should space your treatments at least three months apart to allow your body to cope with the injectable. For more information, set up a consultation with one of our surgeons so you can feel confident about your choice.

BOTOX DO’S AND DON’TS

We’ve all seen people who’ve injected too much Botox and have an almost comical appearance. With all the Botox horror stories, you may be scared to try any wrinkle fillers at all, but our surgeons are skilled at injecting just the right amount of fluid to ensure a natural-looking result where you can still have mobility in your face. We recommend that you read the Do’s and Don’t of Botox Injections on our website here
